Look for laptops with “dedicated” graphic card of atleast 256mb dedicated memory or more.

You want one with good gigahertz and a very good video card, usually laptops don’t have very good video cards, so ask around for good cards, or you can upgrade your computer later on. Oh and a large hard drive is a plus.

unfortunately it’s not just a matter of comparing numbers as it’s very easy for makers to a laptop that will have high specifications but fail to perform. you’ll be looking for

* a ‘proper’ graphics chip (NVIDIA) which has it’s own memory
* a proper CPU (core2duo or phenom) that’s not been crippled by insufficient cache
* a good keyboard to take the pounding
* a good display with better response times so no blur/smudge
* a decent sound chip

the best thing is to check dedicated gamer gamer sites for reviews, or be able to return what you buy if it fails to perform!
